CD16 participates in signal transduction and mediates antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC) by natural killer (NK) cells. The second form of CD16 (FCGR3B) is a glycosyl-phosphatidylinositol (GPI) linked molecule expressed exclusively on neutrophils.
