Tetraspanins are constitutive components of exosomes and are involved in adhesion, motility, matrix modulation and cell fusion. TSPAN8 mediates signal transduction events that regulate cell development, activation, growth, and motility. It is expressed in gastric, colon, rectal, and pancreatic carcinomas.
